Decide what must work without a connection
List the tasks a driver or technician must finish when signal is unavailable. Separate viewing an assignment, recording an inspection, capturing media and making a decision that needs current server data. Each task may need a different offline rule.
Show whether work is saved or sent
People should be able to tell whether a record is stored on the device, waiting to upload or accepted by the server. Plan what happens if the app closes, the device restarts or storage is low. Avoid a success message that hides an unsent record.
Define conflicts and retries
Two people may change the same job while disconnected. Agree which changes can be combined and which need a review. Design repeated submissions so they do not create duplicate work, and keep failed or rejected updates visible until they are resolved.
Test the conditions the team actually faces
Include lost connections during upload, app restarts, repeated submissions, expired sessions and conflicting changes. Review media size and device storage needs. A successful office demonstration is not enough evidence for a field release.
